The 12 Days of Hope has been amazing so far! Check out the pictures below from the festivities at school last week!
Day 1: We spent time learning how to create our own comic books from a professional comic book author. We also received a new comic book. As you can see, the kids were REALLY excited about the comic books!

Day 2: Was the gift of time with friends (one of my favorite days). The kids were allowed to bring games from home or use our classroom games and we enjoyed some special time together with friends. Oh and a special snack of popcorn never hurts!
Day 3: We spent time talking about things we are thankful for and at the end of the day the kids received some incredible gifts. It is amazing just how gracious these first graders can be. Even though our grab bag was mixed with a variety of goodies and some kids didn't get their first, second, third, or fourth choice, they continue to amaze me with their gratitude!
Day 4: (Pay It Forward Friday)- The students have been learning it is better to give than to receive and they had an opportunity to head over to PLU today to hand out treats to the college kids and wish them good luck on their finals. I have never been so proud of my kiddos! They continually said things like:
"Can we give more things away?"
"It is so fun to help other people!"
"I can't wait to go to college some day!"
"It feels so good to help others!"
What an amazing experience for the kids and for me. We stopped by the Office of Admission at PLU and they even gave my kids pennants and pens. Every single one of my kids said they wanted to go to college. How exciting!!!

I got so excited about paying it forward that I almost forgot about our gift from Day 4. An amazing woman in Puyallup hand knit 500 hats so that EVERY SINGLE STUDENT in our school could have a warm hat for the winter. It is amazing to watch the kindness of others!
Day 5: Our students received socks today to keep their toes warm on the playground. My kids were literally ripping their shoes off to try on their new socks. I just love how they appreciate the little things in life!
