Hi, I'm Mrs. Serr.
Welcome to my classroom! I am so excited to be teaching your child this year! I’d like to begin by telling you a little about myself…
My name is Mrs. Serr and this is my second year teaching at James Sales. I recently graduated from PLU with my Master of Arts in Education. At PLU, I focused on reading and literacy, and I am eager to share my knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and techniques that will assist all students in reaching their potential.
I am originally from Minnesota, but now I live in Spanaway, WA with my husband Matt who is a Kindergarten teacher. We have a 17-month old daughter named Nora and our dog Levi. We are very excited to be teaching in the community around PLU where we both went to school for our Bachelor and Master Degree programs.
As many of the students in my class are looping with me this year, I am eager to continue building on the math, reading, and writing skills that we started developing last year. I know that the strong relationships in our classroom will allow students to challenge themselves to reach their goals and accomplish anything they set their minds to. I am so excited to start learning this year and see how much more progress we can make together!
I look forward to being a part of your child’s life this school year. By working together as partners in your child’s education, we are sure to have a successful and fun year.
Thanks so much for your support and partnership in your child’s education!
Take care, Mrs. Serr
